Ras Al Khaimah aims Guinness Record with 6km NYE fireworks display
Over 2,300 drones to create pyrotechnic formations above Marjan Island and Al Hamra
DUBAI – Ras Al Khaimah is set to ring in 2026 with a record-breaking New Year’s Eve celebration.
The 15-minute fireworks show will stretch across six kilometres of coastline, aiming to secure a new Guinness World Record. The highlight will be the launch of the largest single firework ever, combined with over 2,300 drones creating intricate pyrotechnic and laser formations above Marjan Island and Al Hamra.
This year’s spectacle draws inspiration from themes of strength, renewal, and the emirate’s spirit of progress, blending advanced fireworks, glowing drones, and laser effects to transform the night sky into a spectacular visual display.
RAK NYE fireworks
The emirate will host two fireworks shows to cater to all audiences. The first, at 8:00 PM above Corniche Al Qawasim, is family-friendly, allowing residents and visitors to enjoy the celebrations ahead of midnight.
The main event at midnight over Marjan Island and Al Hamra Bay will feature the full 15-minute record-attempt show, combining pyrotechnics, large-scale drone formations, and advanced lighting effects.
NYE festival
The free Ras Al Khaimah New Year’s Eve Festival at Al Hamra starts at 2:00 PM. The festivities include food trucks, carnival games, and live entertainment for all ages. The lineup features DJ BobMix with international and Arabic hits, Indo-Canadian Bollywood singer Shweta Subram, and DJ Bia delivering a global music set.
Several parking areas are available, including dedicated zones for caravans and camping. Visitors must register vehicles in advance at www.raknye.com to access assigned parking and essential entry and exit information.
Global viewing
For audiences worldwide, the fireworks display will be streamed live on the official website and YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok channels. With 13 Guinness World Records titles in the past seven years, Ras Al Khaimah is one of the top destinations for New Year’s Eve celebrations in the world.
